Born Lakeisha Shanae in Atlanta, Georgia,
KJ was destined for entertainment. She began her journey as a child, always
performing at home and in school, as a cheerleader and dancer. She was also a
very active youth in the church, where she first learned the importance of
serving the community. With her infectious smile, out-going personality, and
panache for being a high achiever, she was most often a leader. This followed
her throughout life into her adulthood.
After receiving her B.A. in Mass Communication with a concentration in Public Relations from Fort Valley State University, KJ became an intern at the University's campus radio station. During her time there, she developed a love for interacting closely with the student music community. Since then, she decided to further pursue her passion for working in the music and entertainment world by modeling, hosting, and acting. She has recently appeared in several music videos, independent films, and print ads.
In addition to entertainment, KJ has also remained very active in the community. Once she received her M.B.A in Project Management, she become a key leader as a volunteer with a couple of local non-profit organizations, she decided to make her mark by helping those less fortunate. And in 2012, she started The Faith Project, a non-profit organization whose focus is on assisting the homeless. Every Saturday morning, KJ, along with her family and volunteers, help to provide clothing, personal care items, and food to the homeless in Downtown Atlanta.
